Kim Laughton

Kim Laughton is the former president of Schwab Charitable, a nonprofit, donor-advised fund provider. During her tenure, Schwab Charitable became one of the largest fundraising charities in the country and facilitated granting of over $20 billion to more than 180,000 charities. Prior to joining Schwab Charitable, Kim held a variety of leadership, strategy, and general management positions at Charles Schwab & Company, supporting its tremendous growth and democratization of investing.

Kim has been recognized by the San Francisco Business Times as one of the most influential women in Bay Area business.  In addition to board service for the Kempner Fund, she currently serves on the board of Equitable Funds (a subsidiary of Equitable: EQH), Giving Compass (a nonprofit focused on improving the effectiveness of philanthropy) and on the Audit Committee of DignityMoves (a nonprofit provider of temporary housing).  She has also served on the board of the Educational Foundation of Orinda and Students Rising Above (a nonprofit focused on supporting potential first-generation college students to realize their educational and career objectives).

Kim graduated with a BA in economics and a BS in biology from Stanford University. She has an MBA from Harvard Business School and is a Stanford Distinguished Career Institute Fellow. Kim lives in the San Francisco Bay Area, where she raised her five children.
