Application Process

Applicants must submit proposals through the Kempner Fund’s online grant application. Emailed or printed copies will not be accepted.
New Applicants are strongly encouraged to contact the HEKF office prior to applying at information@kempnerfund.org.

Due Dates: The Fund accepts proposals twice a year:
- March 15 for program areas: Health or Human Services
- October 15 for program areas: Arts & Humanities, Community Development, Environment, Education, and Preservation
- If the grant deadline falls on a weekend, the deadline will shift to the following Monday.
Directors will consider one proposal per program area per year.
If your request is $5,000 or less, please contact the Kempner Fund office at information@kempnerfund.org
- These requests must also be submitted within the spring and fall grant deadlines listed above to be considered by the HEKF Board of Directors.
